Privacy Commitment
We ask for your information so we can count your signature honestly and keep you informed. Nothing more.
What we collect
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your city and state
- Optionally, how you describe yourself (parent, educator, pastor, and so on)
- Your answers to the confirmation checkboxes on the form
How we use it
- To record your signature. Your name and city are shown publicly among the signers only if you checked that box. Your email address is never displayed.
- To confirm your signature by email, so no one can sign in your name.
- To send occasional updates, if you opted in. Every message includes an unsubscribe link.
- To show accurate totals, in aggregate and without identifying anyone.
What we will not do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information — to anyone, for any price.
- We do not share your information with political campaigns, candidates, or parties.
- We do not publish your email address or your full street address.
- We do not use your information to contact your employer, your school, or your church.
Who can see it
Signature data is accessible only to the small number of volunteers who administer this site, and to the service providers that host the site and store the data. Those providers are bound to use the data only to provide their service to us.
Removing your name
You can withdraw your signature at any time and for any reason. Email info@protectthechildren.us from the address you signed with, or tell us the name and city you used. We will remove your signature and delete your contact information, and we will confirm when it is done.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party advertising trackers. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; if you would rather avoid that request entirely, the fonts can be self-hosted — email us and we will do it.
Children
This form is for adults. Please do not sign if you are under 18, and do not submit a child’s name or contact information. If we learn we have collected a minor’s information, we delete it.
Changes
If we change this commitment in any way that affects how your information is used, we will say so on this page and email everyone who opted in to updates.
